✨ How to Start a Beauty Blog (Even If You’re a Total Beginner!) ✨

Dreaming of starting a beauty blog but don’t know where to begin? Don’t worry—every beauty guru started somewhere (yes, even the ones with 1M followers and flawless lighting 😌). Here’s your simple, fun, glow-up guide to launching your very own beauty blog!

💄 1. Pick Your Beauty Niche
What gets you excited? Skincare for sensitive skin? Affordable drugstore dupes? Bold makeup looks? Hair care for curls?
Choosing a niche helps your blog stand out—and helps readers know exactly why they should follow you.

📸 2. Choose a Cute, Catchy Blog Name
This is your beauty brand’s first impression! Aim for something:
✨ Easy to remember
✨ Reflective of your style
✨ Something you’d be proud to put on merch one day 😉

🌐 3. Set Up Your Blog
No tech stress needed! Platforms like WordPress, Wix, or Blogger make it SUPER beginner-friendly. Pick a clean theme, add your colors, and boom—you’ve got your digital glam palace.

🎨 4. Start Creating Fun, Helpful Content
This is the heart of your beauty blog! Try posting:
💋 Tutorials
🧴 Product reviews
🌸 Skincare routines
🎥 Behind-the-scenes of your own beauty journey
And don’t worry about perfection—people love realness more than flawless photos.

💡 5. Take Photos in Good Lighting (Your Secret Weapon!)
Natural light = instant upgrade.
Even if you’re using your phone, good lighting makes your content look fresh and professional.

📱 6. Share Your Blog on Socials
Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest—these are your new besties. The more you share, the more your audience grows. Don’t be shy… your future fans are waiting!

🤝 7. Connect With Other Beauty Lovers
Comment on other creators’ posts, join beauty groups, support small brands, engage with your readers. Community is everything.

8. Be Consistent & Have FUN
Your blog doesn’t have to be perfect. It just has to be YOU. The more you create, the more confident you’ll get—and the more your blog will grow.

Free course | How to become a blogger | Get your blog started from TODAY ! No-nonsense guide to get started in the blogging industry

Welcome to adventures of summer free blogging course! I have been keeping blogs since I was around 13 years old, coding html and building and designing hundreds of websites by the time I was 19 years old. From all those years of experience I have created a small course on how to become a blogger for anyone out there who needs a fast and easy guide then you have found it.

So lets begin.

Please grab a notepad and pen to write down notes or use word document. Step one requires brainstorming. What type of blog do you want to create ? Are you utilising your existing skills and abilities to create content such as a camping blog for example ?

Lots of blogs exist such as blogs about raising children ( parenting ) Backpacking and hiking ( destinations and tips and tricks ) Blogs about politics or crime ?

First you need to define exactly what your writing about for example this blog adventures of summer is mostly about travel, destination inspiration, my own travel diaries and photographs, travel tips and tricks but I also occasionally like to write about hair and beauty topics. I think its okay to have a mixed blog as long as you communicate that to your audience from the beginning.

Picking a blog name

Okay so this is some bad news…( blog names are overused nowadays and hard to get ) the blog name is of course the first impression that is given to the world about your blog… a good blog name is the difference between night and day! Do not just come up with anything, take your time over your choice.

Some fantastic names that are in use now are ; the battered suitcase blog – love life and travel. Such a good name full of character ! Another is paper planes and caramel waffles – really cute and fun vibes !

The bad news is blog names are nearly all taken and you may need to purchase a domain name from godaddy ( you can check names on godaddy by searching ) that’s a little pricey. Think of it like usernames on x platform, you know when you fill in your username and it says ” username taken ” well that’s like the blogging market. You may need to be inventive by adding numbers or extra letters to your chosen name.

If you cant come up with one on your own then there are name generators that can help you :

What Host can I use

This basically means do you want to be hosted by WordPress, like me? I bought this domain from WordPress and I like the interface of wordpress. You don’t need to get hosted straight away, you can easily sign up for free wordpress blog account but your site will be ex. http://www.mynewblog.wordpress.com You need to purchase a domain name to have the wordpress part removed.

I would recommend signing up for a FREE blog to get started and to get some practice at creating posts and promoting them. You can get a FREE blog at :
