Lidl`s vitamin c glow serum review | Budget skincare!

Advertisements

When it comes to skincare, we’re all looking for products that deliver visible results without breaking the bank. One such product that has recently caught the attention of beauty enthusiasts is Lidl’s Vitamin C Serum with acerola extract. Known for offering high-quality products at affordable prices, Lidl has expanded its range of skincare offerings, and this vitamin C serum is making waves in the beauty community. But what makes it so special? Let’s dive into why Lidl’s Vitamin C Serum might just be the new staple in your skincare routine.

What Is Vitamin C Serum?

Vitamin C is a powerhouse ingredient in skincare. It’s known for its antioxidant properties, which help protect the skin from environmental damage caused by free radicals, such as pollution and UV rays. In addition, Vitamin C is famous for brightening the complexion, promoting collagen production, and helping to reduce the appearance of fine lines and dark spots. The inclusion of Vitamin C in a serum allows for a concentrated, targeted treatment, making it an essential product for anyone looking to improve their skin’s overall appearance.

How to Incorporate Lidl’s Vitamin C Serum into Your Skincare Routine

To get the most out of Lidl’s Vitamin C Serum, it’s important to use it correctly. Here’s how you can integrate it into your routine:

  1. Cleanse Your Skin
Start with a clean face by using your favorite cleanser. This ensures that your skin is free of dirt, oil, and impurities, allowing the serum to penetrate deeply.
  2. Apply the Serum
After cleansing, apply a few drops of the Vitamin C serum to your face and neck. Gently massage it into your skin using upward strokes. Focus on areas with dark spots, uneven skin tone, or fine lines.
  3. Follow Up with Moisturizer
Since Vitamin C can be slightly drying, make sure to follow up with a hydrating moisturizer. This will lock in moisture and help your skin feel soft and nourished throughout the day or night.
  4. Use Sunscreen
Vitamin C can make your skin more sensitive to the sun, so it’s essential to wear sunscreen during the day to protect your skin from harmful UV rays. This will help maintain the brightening effects of the serum and prevent further damage.

Acerola extract, derived from the acerola cherry (also known as the Barbados cherry), is a popular ingredient in skincare due to its high concentration of vitamin C and other beneficial nutrients. Here’s what it can do for your skin:

  1. Brightens the Skin: Vitamin C is a potent antioxidant that can help brighten the complexion by inhibiting melanin production, which can reduce the appearance of dark spots, hyperpigmentation, and uneven skin tone.
  2. Fights Free Radicals: As an antioxidant, acerola extract helps neutralize free radicals, which are unstable molecules that can damage skin cells and contribute to aging and skin issues like wrinkles and fine lines.
  3. Boosts Collagen Production: The vitamin C in acerola extract stimulates collagen production, which is crucial for skin elasticity and firmness. This can help reduce the appearance of fine lines and sagging skin.
  4. Hydrates and Softens: Acerola extract has moisturizing properties, making it beneficial for keeping the skin hydrated, soft, and smooth.
  5. Improves Skin Texture: The antioxidants in acerola can promote healthy skin cell turnover, leading to a smoother, more even skin texture.
  6. Anti-Inflammatory: It has soothing and anti-inflammatory properties, which can help calm irritated skin and reduce redness, making it suitable for sensitive or acne-prone skin.

My thoughts and opinions

For £3.99 this product is very affordable and you get 30ml, I was really surprised when I opened the packaging as other face serums have came in big packaging but had tiny bottles inside. You get a fair bit of serum for only a few pound. The presentation was nice and the bottle and dropper are high quality. Applying the product was easy just a few drops to my forehead and cheeks then rub it all over, my skin felt soft and later I had a glow and signs of hydration. Dry skin was cleared up.

Although I know that this product is good for brightening skin and dealing with dark spots I am looking for the anti-ageing benefits and also the acerola stimulating collagen in my skin. After looking at the ingredients there is another interesting additive : Malpighia emarginata

Malpighia emarginata, commonly known as the acerola cherry, is a tropical fruit rich in vitamin C and antioxidants. Acerola cherry extract is often used in skincare for its numerous benefits. Here are a few reasons why acerola cherry extract is beneficial for skin:

  1. Rich in Vitamin C: Acerola cherries are one of the richest natural sources of vitamin C, which is known for its ability to brighten skin, improve skin tone, and reduce the appearance of dark spots and hyperpigmentation. Vitamin C is also crucial for collagen production, promoting skin elasticity and firmness.
  2. Antioxidant Properties: The extract has potent antioxidant properties that help neutralize free radicals, preventing premature aging, fine lines, and wrinkles caused by oxidative stres
