This post applies to both sexes, a woman or a man can be a narcissist and they can bring a lot of trouble to your life if you are not clued up on ” narcissistic personality disorder“, I wanted to write this post as I have been involved in relationships with narcissistic men when I was younger and I was harmed by this. At the time I was clueless about narcissistic traits and what exactly narcissism actually is ! I thought some people were just raised incorrectly or they were just low quality people or they were choosing to treat me badly because I wasn’t worth it. I wish I had this knowledge and wisdom in this post years ago.. hopefully you can learn a lot from this post and go away armed with wisdom on how to spot these traits in a potential partner.

In this post I will detail the traits and signs that your special person, partner or wife/husband may have a personality disorder leading to bad treatment of there partners, friends and family. Some people can display bad habits now and then due to being stressed or angry this does not make them a narcissist. Narcissist personality disorder can be identified by observing and taking notes on behaviour and matching them up to what expert phycologists have confirmed are narcissistic traits.

Traits and Signs to look for in your Boyfriend/Girlfriend that can signify narcissistic personality disorder :

  1. Taking advantage of others to get what they want and feeling no guilt or remorse, this is because narcissists often have a hard time recognizing the needs and feelings of others. A healthy mindset would tell a person I shouldn’t ask for this or push for this if it upsets or hurts my partner. A narcissistic partner will view you as a supply and will have no trouble manipulating you into doing tasks or activities even if you say ” no ” or try to reason with them. In a healthy relationship sometime partners disagree on things or a boyfriend/girlfriend could be a little pushy over something they want this doesn’t necessary signify narcissism personality disorder, you are looking for a pattern of behaviour that is constant.
  2. Every narcissists know how to put on a show when trying to impress a partner or potential partner this is what phycologist have called ” love bombing phase ” They are very charming and praise you constantly to win a relationship with you or gain trust so they can access your life. This is why some people fall in love with narcissist and think they have found someone special to share life with, share ideas and thoughts and opinions and love. A narcissist partner does not love you, they love your money, your attention and what they can receive from you. They can be very convincing and just about anyone can fall victime to a reltionship or friendship with a narcissist.
  3. They will ask you for money often not repaying it back properly, they will ask you to do a lot of tasks for you which you may feel obligated to do if your in a relationship with someone. Healthy relationships have partners talk through future plans and goals but the narcissistic partner will always want ” My way or the highway ” They are simply thinking of what’s best for them at all times, in a healthy connection partners think what is best for both of them and take each others feeling into consideration. Your partner may also talk about themselves all the time and want the attention constantly.
  4. A narcissist partner can get rid of you as quickly as they pulled you into their life. Once you are are of no use to them or not able to be manipulated anymore you will be discarded without any closure or explanation, sometimes not even a decent goodbye. Healthy relationship end via conversation, mutual agreement or sometimes not but a healthy person will always say goodbye properly or let a person down gently. Healthy relationships do not involve ” ghosting ” or being “ hot and cold
